joshQ: A last mile connection, even where successful, doesn’t make a complete national network. So how does it begin to solve any big problem?
A: Most big problems that include fighting evil spy govt. require many small steps to happen in many places over time. For GT data communications, it is helpful to think about dividing content into generic-high bandwidth access & controversial narrow-band that is protected from censorship & adverse editing. Once it solves the last mile, the narrow band can ride inside the wide band along various network routes of choice. Safely reaching that point appears to be the larger slice of the issue. Is that true?

joshQ: What can be done on a cell tower depends a lot on who owns the tower & what their policies are.
A: That is my understanding. I also believe that most network communication devices are currently built with backdoors of various sorts. That’s not my design for society, but it’s also the reality in the age of genocide.

joshQ: Can the economic prospects of a cell tower operator be damaged based on suspicion they are cooperating with GT?
A: In the short run, anything is possible. In the long run, there is enough competition in the telco market to predict that pointlessly adversarial company activity will likely lead to economic extinction. The biz world is not going to back an international version of that strategy.
