I believe that most of the very serious problems in society have been partially enabled by secret mafia/military crime & compliance with that. General skepticism about secrets & information walls is good & important. At the same time, the reality of a global military attacking all goods is the actual situation we are placed in. Some defensive efforts & remediations do require information hiding & organizational walls. This dialogue of contrasting themes suggests the significance of making good decisions about where to place those types of boundaries – keeping them to a minimum is a goal.
So I think like this:
a) Defensive Defense – open in general
– a few spaces inside there for secrets – mark that need openly
b) Political Rhetoric – open in general
– tiny spaces for hiding some operational details
c) Research – open in terms of goals, but mostly closed in terms of specifics
d) Creating Positive Environmental Change – open in terms of goals & status reports & policy/values arguments.
Various levels of compartmentalization & hiding of operational details.
