joshConcept example – long range underground or under water body burrowing, synthesizing some sort of optic cable as it goes, powered by simple electric or geothermal. Conceptually, bandwidth is lower per strand, by space allows for more strands, and the cost mostly about the burrowing operation which you wanted to do anyway. What can of bandwidth & reliability can I get from what sort of multiplexing strategies at the end? Is there enough simulation theory to try out some designs & make a good prediction? Perhaps not today, but it seems like an interesting goal.
