joshHaving said that, we should also keep the high level focus on the salient difference in accessibility: IoT hacking happens in dynamic 4D space that is not uniformly accessible & arrangable from a single vantage point (e.g. computer with a bluetooth wireless sensor/transmitter). Tests should include dimensions of sensor positioning. Platforms should consider whether a deployable group of sensor droids is the right way to enhance the examination process.
