Earlier, in a deleted tweet (deleted by me for being too off topic), I listed some things that the security could try to do if they spot a suspicious person in the yard:

a) take multiple kinds of images
b) record evidence of trespass
c) notify in various ways
d) try to track them to a nearby building or a car with plates/desc
e) record how they respond, audibly or sub-audibly to various sorts of challenges
f) always be ready to detect & take extra steps if the monitoring system itself is being attacked or if activity like starting an uncontrolled fire is underway.
