One can do experiments with a multi-instrument acoustic ensemble, 2 mic stereo recording (binaural or close together), and mixes musical & physical positioning. Machine learning models/PR try see how quickly & accurately they can guess which instruments are playing when & what the physical layout of the performers & the space is like? How well does pleasant correlate with informative in that experimental setting? Could be a clue.
