    For networking/distributed control there are also novel & unfamiliar chunks of terrain. There, the set of schemes is more open & in flux. Higher level, low energy, low bandwidth schemes like BLE & Zigbee are standards. What is happening at lower energy, slower levels as the system goes down to chunks of micro material?

    Off the top of my head I would like self-organizing, local channels that avoid contention & make intelligent choices about security.
