I remember playing some kind of city simulator game where you would judge how it was going by looking at things like smokestack animations. In the MBA game, there are lots of choices about data display/mining, forecast building, expert hiring etc that give better insights. That’s one of the kinds of things managers can do. They can invest, hire, etc., and they have teams. If a good human team is better than what the AI provides, then that gives an incentive to network in a realistic way.

Different roles have attributes. Doing ed/tests might be 1 way to boost a given attribute, with game success as another.

Another good warmup exercise: make a list of the most dramatic events in the biz cycle & calendar year:
    acquisitions & mergers,
    angel financing,
    IPOS,
    new accounts,
    etc.

Then thinking of ways to highlight & exaggerate them in a game, through both user interface events & impact on the game mechanics.
