High speed digital designs focus on analog issues to guarantee the proper functioning of the specifications of the digital information processing design. Contrast that sub-field as a different place from what I meant to describe above – that is cases where you may want to use analog circuits to deliver some information processing components as part of your overall information processing design.

KeymasterAnalog features of the content domain is also a completely independent dimension – notice that distinction to avoid confusion.
Example: Your are design FM Radio transmission/reception. There there is an analog sound signal that is embedded in an analog radio carrier. So? What is the gear? It could be all digital design up to the D/A & A/D conversions & antenna design. Or it could have some analog parts inside of that design – i.e. maybe it’s a unit built from nanotech on a micro drone that processes radio among other functionality for whatever reason.
