JoshThey feel like criminal violence is just their job & grifting is their “fun”/”art”…no reason to give them any amusement playing along.

JoshEqually absurd is the idea that all these folks, unquestionably following orders to commit obviously criminal acts, somehow need a protocol-based (but morally & legally absurd) “explanation” for who they are killing. That’s not a credible story. It’s just something told to the people held inside to support the prison rules there, and discourage future attempts at outsider contact – which are obviously hated by spook & cost a lot of money to secretly extinguish.
What are the locals told? Nothing…”Here are your orders. Follow your orders precisely. Don’t ask questions…or there will be trouble for *you*.”
They are not even talking about who or why. They are more like a mindless crime machine than a collection of people.
